Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards 2014
Back in March I entered Semester Aboard in the prestigious Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards 2014. In July I was stunned and beyond thrilled to have been named a finalist. I’ve been holding my breath since then, trying to stay calm and prepare myself for disappointment. I promised myself that, whatever happened, I could be proud that I made it far enough to be a finalist. No matter who won, I had that. I would always have that.
I hoped, but tried not to get psyched up, that I would at least make it as far as Honorable Mention, maybe even Bronze. Only in my wildest dreams did I dare to take a moment to hope for Gold.
Of course, a picture is worth 1000 words…
Needless to say, I’ve been in shock since I was notified. I am just so honored and overjoyed! There’s an awards ceremony in Miami in November where I’ll be presented with an actual medal and Semester Aboard will be on a table at the Miami International Book Festival. This is unreal!
