Semester Aboard Four Year Anniversary

Four years ago today, I nervously hit “publish” on Smashwords and Semester Aboard with admittedly horrid editing and a not-great self-made cover was published.

What a long, long way both of us have come!

In May of 2012 Semester Aboard was picked up by Anchor Group Publishing. It got edited and the middle cover was designed for it.

Since then two more More than Magic  books have been published, as well as a short story collection. There are also short stories in two anthologies, two more upcoming anthologies, and an exclusive one available only in Unless You Can Be a Unicorn.

And Semester Aboard won the gold medal for YA Paranormal at the 2014 Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards!

I could not be happier!

In other book-related news, the past four years have been crazy for me. I was hired as Anchor Group Publishing’s book formatter and format for BookSurf as well. I started my own freelance book formatting business and have done a number of books!

I’ve attended book signings in Barnes & Noble, conventions – most notably UtopYA/Utopia and met dozens of amazing authors, bloggers, and readers. And I’ve made some incredible friends.

Right now, Semester Aboard has over 100 reviews on Amazon and a 4.5 star rating!InstagramCapture_ca7e1c12-fa42-4345-913c-400654830957

And life itself has been busy and changing. August has been an insane month for me. In 2011, as I said, I published my first book. In August 2012 (after getting married in April!) we bought a house. In August 2013 we got a dog. And in August 2014 we got a car!

How can I top this in August 2015 you ask? Well, I’m writing this post in advance because our first child is due literally any day. I might even be in the hospital as this post goes live.

In closing, thank you for reading! Not only this post, but my books! I hope you enjoy the adventures as much as I enjoy writing them. Thank you for all of your support over the past four years. I can’t wait to see where the next take us!

  1. Hi hi, first of all congrats on your little one. Every joy to you!

A close friend and I have had a great weekend/week reading the More than Magic books. We just LOVED them. We also wondered if you could foresee another couple coming along. As adult readers we were thinking of when Jen turns into a seriously dangerous ( bad ass lol ) witch and featured the gang doing things together. A partner for TS maybe? etc etc. Babies for Jen and Thomas etc etc

If not, thankyou thankyou for the fab stories and all blessings to you

    Kind regards
    Clare
